Pet Groomers scv | Dogs Home Alone??
by uwashdoggiescv on May 18th, 2012 |www.petwash.com Professional Pet Grooming & Self Service Dog Wash.
Leaving the house can make you feel guilty when it means you have to leave your dog alone. If leaving them alone makes you feel bad, you’re not the only one. Many people do. Although many dogs do just fine on their own, it’s only natural to feel guilty when they whimper and look at you with those big puppy dog eyes. But life goes on and sometimes we don’t have choice.
It’s a busy world. And like most of us, you’ve got places to go, things to do and people to see. Whether you’re off to work, school or shopping, or even out for a nice dinner and a movie, chances are you spend time away from home. And sadly, much of the time out means that your dog cannot come along.
Dogs have very little to occupy their time while you’re gone, especially if they’re the only pet in the household. (We’re their entertainment.) Some dogs seem content to nap away their day while you’re away. Other dogs have a much harder time coping with the situation when they’re home all alone. These dogs can suffer from boredom, stress or separation anxiety.
So how do you know if your dog is unhappy about being left alone?
Some dogs make it quite obvious by leaving a trail of destruction behind. You could return home to find your furniture or personal belongings chewed up, the garbage ransacked, paper or pillows chewed to shreds, or you may find that your dog has vomited, urinated or defecated in the house. Some dogs eat everything in sight when you’re away, and others flat-out refuse to eat. Some dogs groom themselves incessantly to calm their nerves. Others vocalize their dissatisfaction by howling, whining and barking while you’re away. (And if you have neighbors nearby, you’re sure to hear about it!) Maybe the answer is to get another dog?? www.petwash.com U-Wash Doggie Stores 1-800-PET WASH in the Santa Clarita Valley.

TrulyDRY Carpet Cleaning SCV can get your carpets, upholstery and tile clean
by Truly Dry Carpet Cleaning on May 18th, 2012 | http://www.trulydry.com#TrulyDRY Carpet Cleaning www.trulydry.com has been providing professional carpet, upholstery and tile and grout cleaning service in the SCV for 10 years – call us at 661-476-7775.
Is the carpeting in your home or business looking a little ratty and worn? It may just need a thorough cleaning. At #TrulyDRY Carpet Cleaning we realize that your carpet represents a significant investment for you. And protection of that investment and life extension of your carpet will be guaranteed if your carpets are professionally cleaned every 6-12 months.
In some cases more regular cleaning may be necessary depending on the quantity of traffic into your house. We would be happy to advise you on this to help make your carpets last longer. Most people still believe the only way to clean their carpets and upholstery is to “soak” them with water and detergents. But that method can actually force dirt deeper into your carpets and padding. When left behind, this water becomes a breeding ground for mold and bacteria in just hours!
TrulyDRY uses the HOST® system, which will get your carpets cleaner without using toxic bleaches or brighteners. Our cleaning method is envronmentally friendly, so you won’t have to worry about your children or pets breathing in or being exposed to dangerous fumes.
When you’re ready to clean your carpets, upholstery or tile and grout, give us a call at 661-476-7775.

Banana – A Celebrity Among Fruits
If we compare the dragon fruit to Salma Hayek (rare and exotic), the banana is probably more like Kate Winslet (not really an American local yet so familiar). Each year, the average American family eats bananas more than apples and oranges combined. They are the first fruit babies can eat and possibly the last fruit elderly adults can chew. In fact, bananas are not only popular in the United States. According to the UNCTAD (The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development), they are the world’s most famous fruit. Before we dig into deeper details about banana nutrition and cookery, let’s look at a few pieces of evidence that prove the banana’s stardom in the fruit world:
- America’s Delight – On average, Americans consume about 12 billion bananas a year, which is approximately 26 pounds or almost 150 bananas per person! Without a doubt, they are America’s number one fruit.
- A Great Poet’s Delicacy – Legend has it that the banana was Walt Whitman’s favorite fruit. As an artistic guy, of course, he preferred to eat his bananas artistically. It would be too banal to just peel and chew. Before taking each bite, Whitman would dip his banana into a glass of sherry. Perhaps that was part of the secret to his wonderful poetry.
- Japan’s Slim Trick – The morning banana diet became the most frenzied diet fad in Japan in 2008, causing a serious banana shortage in most supermarkets all over the country. The effectiveness of the banana diet has not been confirmed by any health institution, though a number of weight-concerned individuals in many other countries have already jumped on the bandwagon.
- Hindu Holy Fruit – In the Christian Bible, the forbidden fruit in the earthly paradise was the apple, but in Hinduism, it was the banana! Bananas are believed to be one of the best offerings to Hindu gods, and banana leaves have been used as decorative items in various religious ceremonies.
Pet Grooming Newhall, Ca.| Squeaky Toy for Dogs
by uwashdoggiescv on May 17th, 2012 |www.uwashdoggie.com Professional Pet Grooming & Self Service Dog Wash. 1-800-PET-WASH.
So, what is it about a squeaky toy that dogs find so appealing?
It all comes down to instinct. The excitement your dog feels when he plays with a squeaky toy is related to his wolf ancestry – it goes back to a time when wild dogs had to hunt and kill prey to survive. Hunting is just a natural part of being a dog, even if they no longer have to hunt to survive. The squeaky noises of prey animals would help dogs locate their next meal – and the noises the prey animals made during the kill were very satisfying to a hungry dog.
“Hunting” a squeaky toy gives your dog the same type of satisfaction. It’s a safe way for your dog to give his natural instincts a good workout. And the more the toy squeaks, the more excited your dog becomes. That’s why so many dogs will try to “kill” the toy by destroying it and pulling out the squeaker.
A good squeaky toy can provide lots of fun play and mental stimulation for your dog. It’s one of the reasons why they are an all-time favorite. But when you purchase a squeaky toy for your dog, you always need to put safety first.
Make sure the toy does not have a lot of pieces that can be chewed off and swallowed. Look for features (eyes, nose, etc.) that are embroidered onto the toy; ones that are attached via buttons or stitches can be pulled off. Also, once your dog chews through the toy, he could swallow the squeaker or the fiberfill stuffing inside. This can be very dangerous and result in a trip to the emergency room. That’s why it is so important to supervise your dog’s play.
